ETHOS & SELECTION APPROACH

As set out in our Club Constitution (section 1.5).

The ethos of The Club is one of participation, enjoyment and learning in a safe environment with equal opportunities wherever        practically possible.

The Club is proudly affiliated to and operates within the FA recommended guidelines for youth football and safeguarding children  practices.

In practice what does this mean?

Safety:
- We will only play when we deem the pitches are safe to play on.
- We will only play players we are confident are fit to play.
- We will welcome any player that would like to join us within the age groups we offer, until we reach a safe capacity determined by our available pitch space and coaching resource.

Fair Opportunities:
- We do not tolerate behaviour from players or parents that is inconsistent with the expectations set out in the FA Respect Guidelines.
- We will give every player equal opportunity to participate in training.
- We aim to provide suitable match opportunities for players whenever we can, subject to player and opposition availability and pitch    conditions.
- We will select a team appropriate to the expected strength of the opposition. This may mean selecting the strongest team for some fixtures and a less experienced team for other fixtures. A player should not necessarily expect to be offered every fixture.
- We commit that any player taken to a match will, subject to injury and attitude, be involved in at least half of the match.
- We aim to be fair both to the strongest and most developmental players.
- We aim to do the right thing for the team as a whole, which may mean some players playing out of their preferred positions for the greater good of the team.
- Players that arrive late, or do not participate fully in the warm-up, should not expect to start the game and/or spend longer on the     bench.
